Artificial Grass Rejuvenation & Maintenance
Artificial grass maintenance falls into two categories. The first category is artificial grass maintenance – designed for artificial grass installations done for traditional landscaping applications within the last two to three years using third generation artificial grasses. The second category is artificial grass rejuvenation – designed for artificial grass installations for sports field applications and for installations done more than three years ago using earlier generations of artificial grass and/or using silica sand and crumb rubber infills.
Artificial Grass Rejuvenation
Artificial grass rejuvenation is a more thorough and elaborate maintenance evolution. It can be done for private homes, HOA common areas, business parks, doggie day camps, schools, sports fields, and government installations. It is typically required for the following:
-
Heavy (commercial) traffic areas
-
Sports fields
-
Installations done using second generation and earlier versions of synthetic grass
-
Installations done using silica sand and crumb rubber infills
Artificial grass rejuvenation consists of:
- Removing surface debris
- Filtering contaminants from existing infill
- Supplementing infill after filtering and/or extracting infill and replacing it with a high performance infill
- Leveling the infill
- Lifting the pile
- Disinfecting and protecting the artificial grass surface
- Custom field markings
Artificial grass rejuvenation has the following benefits:
- Extends product life
- Improves and/or maintains aesthetic quality and performance of your artificial grass
- Improves fall test ratings/Gmax performance
- Safer athletic play with reduced joint impact injuries
- Protection from / reduction of bacteria, microbes, algae, mold, and fungal proliferation

Artificial Grass Maintenance
Third generation artificial grasses are very low maintenance – but not maintenance free. Periodic (semi-annual) cleaning is recommended. There are a series of products such as artificial grass disinfectants that are available to renew and deodorize your artificial lawn. There are also specialized products for dog owners that will facilitate the cleaning and maintenance of your synthetic lawn. We recommend periodic maintenance of your artificial grass consisting of brushing and hosing down. To ensure the long-term health and beauty of your artificial grass installation we recommend semi-annual maintenance – the application of a disinfectant and power brushing. Routine brushing and cleaning will prevent your artificial grass from matting. On a regular basis yard debris should be removed using a blowing or lawn vacuum.
