Heavy Metals Tests
In the heavy metals test, the concentrations detected in the various resilient infill granules were compared to typical
concentrations in Eastern U.S. natural soils (typical background concentrations) in undeveloped, rural areas as published by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Table 1 shows that all samples of recycled SBR have very high concentrations of zinc, and recycled SBR
from car tires has high concentrations of lead. Ecofill® Star and recycled EPDM don't contain either.
