Olympics are held once in 4 years. It attracts athletes from all around the world to take part in competition and prove who is best in their generation. Before Greece Olympics in 2004, hockey sport was played on natural grass. But during Greece Olympics 2004, the hockey sport was played on synthetic turf. In 2008 Beijing Olympics, the hockey team will be playing on artificial grass. The stadium has a floor area of 15,539 m2 and more than 17,000 seats to accommodate the thousands of hockey fans. The hockey teams will play at the Olympic green hockey stadium in northeast Beijing.
Even in 2010 soccer world cup in South Africa and London Olympic games in 2012, synthetic turf will be used. Artificial turf was also used in England's Euro 2008 qualifier against Russia in Moscow last year. Russia won the game 2-1. Artificial tracks can offer performance enhancing aspects that help athletes to break records, which can protect the human body from injuries.
